The Law and Science Trial: a learning experience through role-playing

INTRODUCTION: Problem-based learning and roleplay allow students to develop an active role in their process make them implement classroom-acquired theoretical concepts a practical environment. METHODS: The group of was divided into 2 groups, the first representing patient's family second insurance company. Each defends its interests, need for gene therapy company limitations that may occur with it. MAIN OBJECTIVE: In this article, we present educational experience based on roleplaying problem-based developed Molecular Biology course Faculty Medicine Colombian university, where are asked act out specific roles simulated trial. RESULTS: As many taught through easily forgotten, Law & Science Gene Therapy Trial more didactical and, therefore, improve academic results. This allows theoretical-practical integration students’ knowledge therapy, molecular basis, clinical implications.
